Blogger Appreciation Award

I am going to have to increase my normal posts so you don’t all think that all I post on here is awards now! (Hmm…that came across as a bit arrogant possibly – but I am freaking thrilled to have been nominated for 3 blogger awards in the last week!) I am truly honored to be recognized by my fellow bloggers for my writing.

So – let’s get to this one:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their site.
  • Write a paragraph of something positive about yourself.
  • Nominate and notify as many bloggers as you wish.
  • Use the Blogger Appreciation Award image.

Blogger Appreciation Award

So, first and foremost I want to give a big Thank You to Becca at From My Lofty Hill for this award. She and I recently found each other in the blogosphere and have immediately connected. Check out her blog – her life is such an adventure!

So this post has taken a bit longer to write than the others because instead of just answering some questions or listing some facts about myself, I’m supposed to write a positive paragraph about myself. I’m finding that a bit harder to do than I thought it would be. Which means I still have a long way to go on my journey. Or maybe I will blame it on the fact that I’ve been fighting a cold and not getting enough sleep lately. And I have a big presentation coming up at work that has me stressed a bit. But enough excuses!

One positive thing about me is that I am positive. Years ago I started to realize how many negative people I had in my life and how that number included ME! I made a conscious decision at that time to no longer walk down that negative path. Now, don’t get me wrong – I can vent and have a pity party for myself just a successfully as the next person. However, I don’t ever want to let myself stay there and wallow in it. I choose to find the positive in every situation. I truly believe that everything that happens to us – good, bad and ugly – shapes who we are and there is a purpose or a reason for all of it. So after I have myself a good whiny cry, I pick myself up, dust off my britches and look for the positive. Sometimes I have to dig a bit to find it, but it is always there for you to find if you choose to look. I’m trying to instill this in my children as well. My motto is to find the positive outcome in all situations and if you can’t, at least find something to laugh about. I truly believe nothing cures what ails you as fast as a good hearty laugh.

And now for the nomination. I’m new to the blogging world and have not yet started following very many people. And with the other two awards I’ve pretty much named all of them (or I have linked to them because they nominated me!) However, there is one additional person I want to say Thank You to and nominate today for the Blogger Appreciation Award. I greatly appreciate the time you have taken to encourage and help me as a new blogger.

Pendantry at Wibble – Not only has Pendantry started following my blog and encouraged me in my blogging – he reached out to me about how to link my Gravatar properly. I did not even know what a Gravatar was!

You did not have to do this, yet you chose to take the time to help out a newbie – and I’m not the only one. You are awesome.

Don’t know what a Gravatar is? Check out this post.

And there you have it – my 3rd award post. Whew!! I never thought this journey would be so fun and exciting. Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far!

  1. Very many thanks for linking my ‘Gravatar’ page; it’ll help to get the word out. I’m still puzzling over how to reach those who don’t know about it yet; what I’ve been doing is checking Gravatars in comments (because the names against the Gravatar more often than not links to a site, so I can find them, which otherwise I wouldn’t be able to). It’s time consuming, but one benefit is that a lot of folks have been following little old me because of it!

Now, I don’t normally do ‘awards’ but I think I may make an exception in this case. I’ll have to have a little think about whom to nominate. Not to mention the rule about writing a positive paragraph about myself, that sounds like hard work, and I avoid that like the plague!

    Thanks again, and happy blogging!
