Friday Funday Challenge – Game on – You Name It!

I’ve done this challenge once, but it has come back around to me again and most of the questions have changed since the first go round.  Just like Rory (A Guy Called Bloke) intended.  Plus apparently Stubby (the Stubborn Australian) is a bit worried about me because I’ve been “too quiet” lately.  I would hate for him to worry too much.  So here we go for another round!!

The Rules …

…because there are always rules, are simple!

1] Thank the nominator

2] Answer Q1 – Q19

3] Nominate three bloggers of your choice and notify them.

4] Each selected blogger MUST answer 16 of the asked 19 questions, but also insert 3 new questions to make up the 19 compliment. Every time a new blogger is selected they MUST only answer 16 of the asked 19 questions as well as answer their own 3, and choose 3 new bloggers. Each time a new blogger sees the questionnaire it will be completely different to the next blogger along.

[Hint: delete three of the questions you don’t like or have no answer for and insert your own in its place]

5] Q20 & Q14  Must always remain intact.

20] The three bloggers you are nominating are?

My Answers:

1.  Are you currently reading a book, if so what is it?

Duh! Of course I’m reading a book – when am I NOT reading a book?  I tend to not be able to do just one though.  Currently my reading list includes:

  • On Writing:  A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
  • Rising Strong: How the Ability to Reset Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead by Brené Brown
  • My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman
  • Love Her Wild by Atticus
  • 1984 by George Orwell (been working on this one for awhile now!)
  • Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire

The first 3 are my main books right now which I flip back and forth between every day.  The other three I check in with now and then.

2.  If you had to save either someone you love or a busload of strangers the one(s) not saved will die, who would you choose?

This seems like another no-brainer.  Of course I’m going to save the ones I love!

3. Choice weapon for survival during the zombie invasion?

I’m not sure I would survive long as this would weigh me down but I want something like grenades or a rocket launcher.  Something that would blow the zombies to smithereens.  Partly because I don’t trust the darn things to stay down and partly because I like to see things blow up.  (Yep, the redneck is showing through!)

4.  Horror or comedy films?

Comedy for sure.  I love to laugh and I don’t do too well with Horror.  I can handle books, but the movies just either freak me out or totally bore me.  And even with books, I’m a bit picky.  Although there are a few horror films that I am a bit partial to.

5. Skinny dipping or mud wrestling?

I’ve done both in the past – well, not at the same time.  But I would have to say mud wrestling.  This is where the redneck in me totally shines through.  I love playing in the mud.  Whether it is participating in a Mud Run (which by the way the emphasis should be on MUD not RUN – they need more mud obstacles and less space between the obstacles!) or taking a quad or truck out into the mud – I’m game!

6.  What was your favorite candy/sweet as a kid?

I was a daddy’s girl so I liked the things my dad did – that included black licorice and Chick-O-Sticks.  And Skor bars.  In middle school I remember going through a phase where I liked Whatchamacallit bars too!

7.  Going to a party or the library, what’s your preference?

The library every time.  I could actually live in a library.  Lock me in and as long as I have coffee I’ll be happy as a clam.

8. What’s your favorite tipple (drink)?

I’m glad they defined this – I would have been lost.  I am a Kahlua and Cream girl.  (no vodka – everyone tries to add vodka to it!  I said Kahlua and Cream – not a White Russian!)

9.What book (or series) have you read recently that you think should be made into a movie?

Definitely the Lunar Chronicles.  They would make an awesome movie series, as long as the right people were involved.

10.  Name one of your favorite features of your significant other (or if you don’t have a significant other – your dream significant other)?

His smile.  He has this kind of  tentative crooked Elvis type like smile that still makes my heart skip a beat just like it did when we first met in High School.  He was the quiet bad boy that sat behind me in class.  His smiles are not easy to come by but I love when I see them.  I will often sneak a peek at him during movies to see if I can catch a glimpse of his smile.  And now that we’ve gotten older he has those little laugh lines around his eyes and mouth that were not there before. I think those make his smiles even more attractive.

11.  What were you like as a child?

I was a bit of a tomboy – but still liked to dress girly at times.  Loved to play in the mud with my cute dresses.  I was also a bit of a nerd.  Always been a bookworm and a good student.  I was a people-pleaser too – still am.  Trying to work on that one.  And I was probably considered to be kind of quiet.  I grew up in a very outgoing and loud family so I was one of the quiet ones.  Now I’m married to a man of little words and so I’m the loud one!

12.  If you had a free pass (to sleep with anyone) who would it be?  (can’t be your partner)

Hmm, this is a hard one.  I don’t really want to answer it but there are already 3 questions I like less.  In the past I would have said Tim McGraw.  Still think he is hot, but I don’t think I would use my pass on him.  Maybe Jason Momoa.  Or Brantley Gilbert.    Guess I’m going for the younger guys now.  (My hubby is younger than me so I guess that makes sense.  Only by 2 1/2 months, but he still likes to rub it in!)

13.  What is something you enjoy to do that makes others think you are a bit weird?

I love to create spreadsheets in Excel.  Fancy ones with formulas and drop down menus and conditional formatting.  I don’t always know how to get them to do what I want but that is what Google is for and in the end I figure it out!

14.  Which 3 questions will you be deleting to add your own in?

9, 10 and 13

15.  If someone wanted to make a movie about your family, who would you want to portray yourself, your parent(s)/caregiver(s), and your sibling(s)?

Me:  that is hard. I’m honestly not sure.

Brother:  Paul Walker would be perfect.  He always reminded me of my brother.  Problem is, he is dead. So I’m not sure at this point.

Mom:  Ugh, no idea.   I really kind of suck at this question

Dad:  Definitely Tim Allen

16.  Ok, you are going to be shipwrecked on an island that has food and water, what three items would you need to have with you?

  1.  A crate of books
  2. Something to write with – I would prefer a little solar powered laptop (do they make those?) because I type faster than I write.  But if that is not available I guess a bunch of notebooks and pens work. At least then I can doodle some too.
  3. Coffee!!

17.  Where do you feel the most at peace?

In nature – preferably where there is a lot of green, trees and a lake.  I LOVE to just float in a lake.  That is the one time when I can just chill and not feel guilty about just doing nothing.

18.  If we were trapped together in the jungle, how would you help us escape?

Honestly I probably would not be much help at all.  I would like to say I could be the hero and get us out,  but honestly I would either probably freak out or go find some mud to play in (and hope it was not quicksand!)  And if there were big spiders – you would be giving me a piggyback ride all the way out!

19.  What music is currently your favorite (Provide Link)

I’ve been into the Lacs and Moonshine Bandits lately.  I was not sure what to call this music so I looked it up.  Apparently it is Country Rap.  So I guess I like the beat of the rap, but the words from the Country music.  My newest find is a new song by the Lacs called Willie Nelson.

Good luck trying to get in
Baby girl you’re gonna need some help to get in
Got a truck so high I call it Willie Nelson

The other song I’m hooked on right now is C.O.U.N.T.R.Y by LoCash Cowboys.  Like the song and honestly want to just be out there playing in the mud.  I think I need to be an extra in some of these country videos so I can get my mud fix.

Truck Collage
Unfortunately, where we live now we don’t find much mud.  But we did find some dirt roads and got the truck nice and dirty last weekend!  This is my lifted truck – not quite as high as Willie Nelson though!

20.  The three bloggers you are nominating are?

I’m going to be a brat and possible make this one die off – I’m not going to officially nominate anyone.  If you want to have some fun and participate please do so.  I need to get back into reading blogs that I follow more regularly. If you participate link back to this post and I’ll be sure to go check out your blog.
